$960-a-Night Ocean Drive Hotel Wins Best Boutique Award Despite Rooms Being Registered Watercraft

The Vice City Luxe Awards named The Delacosta Hotel the city's best boutique accommodation for the third year running Thursday, despite all 22 of its rooms being individually registered watercraft with the Leonida Department of Marine Vessels. Management confirmed the distinction means the hotel is legally exempt from building safety codes, minimum room size regulations, and the requirement to provide fresh water in fixed plumbing. Every room has its own life ring. Checkout is described in the welcome booklet as "disembarking." It is fully booked through March.

Ripped from the headlines: Hospitality industry regulations
