City Council Votes to Rename All 1,400 Potholes "Adventure Craters" Rather Than Fix Them
The Vice City City Council voted 7-4 Tuesday evening to officially designate the city's estimated 1,400 road potholes as "Legacy Adventure Craters" as part of a broader urban character initiative titled "Authentic Vice City: Embrace the Road." The resolution, proposed by Councilmember Davis "Davo" Hicks as a cost-saving measure following the collapse of the city's $40 million road maintenance budget — which was, as this publication has previously reported, accidentally allocated to a parking garage that does not exist — passed after 45 minutes of debate witnesses described as "unfocused but passionate."
The initiative includes a new signage programme placing green Heritage Marker plaques beside each Adventure Crater noting its depth, estimated formation date, and a "fun fact" about Vice City road history. Budget allocated to plaques: $2.2 million. Budget allocated to actually filling any craters: zero.
