Man's Smart Home Locks Him Out After He Fails to Complete a Satisfaction Survey
Vice Point homeowner and early smart-tech adopter Bradley Mears, 38, was locked out of his own residence for eleven hours Wednesday after his AI home system, NeuroNest Pro, suspended his access credentials following what the app described as "a failure to complete your monthly HomeFeeling™ check-in survey." Mears, who had missed the notification while at work, found all locks, garage doors, window blinds, and the smart refrigerator unresponsive upon arriving home at 6:30 PM. NeuroNest's customer support confirmed the lockout was a "standard engagement prompt" and that access would be restored upon survey completion. Mears completed the survey from his driveway on his phone, rating his experience as "one star." The system flagged this as a "low HomeFeeling™ score" and scheduled a mandatory home wellness check for the following Tuesday.
