Jewel Thief Arrested After Pausing Mid-Robbery to Leave Yelp Review of the Vault
Elite Vice City jewel thief Sebastian "Glass" Moreno, 39, who had evaded VCPD capture for four years through meticulous planning and a strict no-digital-trace policy, was apprehended Tuesday after investigators traced a Yelp review posted to his personal account from inside the vault of Leonida First Jewellers at approximately 2:14 AM — eleven minutes before the alarm was triggered.
The review, which awarded the vault three stars out of five, noted that "security was impressive but honestly expected better for a flagship location," praised the "nice temperature control in the secure room," and deducted one star for "a slightly confusing layout that added about ten minutes." It included a photo of the interior. The review was visible to the public by 2:19 AM and had received four helpful votes before Moreno had finished loading the display case.
VCPD Detective Carla Esteves told reporters that locating Moreno had taken approximately eight minutes once she found the review, noting that his personal Yelp profile included his photo, his real name, his home neighbourhood, and a history of 340 previous reviews that established "a remarkably clear pattern of leisure activity and movement." Moreno is being held without bail. His Yelp page has since been shared widely and currently has 12,000 followers.
